Pour Painting on Canvas Wall Art

Welcome back!

Let me show you how to use our pouring paint.

With this tutorial our supply will be:

  • Something to protect your work space
  • Gloves
  • Mixing cups
  • Craft sticks
  • Canvas
  • Paint (acrylic)
  • Pouring medium
  • Pouring oil (optional)

Step one:

Choose your paint colors.

Step two:

Mix your paint and painting medium equal parts, 1 to 1 ratio. Mix throughly. You want your consistency to be like buttermilk.

Step three:

Put some cups on the table upside-down and place the canvas on the cups, so the canvas is raised off the table to allow the paint to pour off the sides.

Step four:

Start pouring your paints on the canvas, overlapping, swirling or in sections, it won't matter because you will pick up your canvas and tilt it to guide the paint over all the canvas.

Tip: if your paint isn't covering or being guided to fill every spot you might need to add more paint to your canvas.

Step five:

Allow the paint to dry at least 24 hours before picking up or touching! You don't want fingerprints or slurry lines on your art!

Tip: hanging your artwork with command strips or nails.
